Hi!

I was pretty lazy about my 3DS and I haven't turned on in maybe years. I have a working Cubic Ninja with ninjhax v1 (yes, I know its old), with an emunand and rxtools (yes, still old). The sysnand firmware is 8.1.0-11U, and the emunand firmware is something like 11.2 I know that I should NOT be using rxtools anymore, and I want to upgrade to Luma3ds. I don't care on erasing the emunand, or any data.

As far as I know, I should first upgrade to 9.2 firmware before doing anything, because, there are better hacks from that version (right?). Also, I would like to preserve the system at 9.2 and booting from my cubic ninja, if posible.

I writing this asking for some good guides, because I'm so stuck in these old versions that I can't find and good method to upgrade. Guys, any suggestions?

if you dont care about anything on your system just format the sd card and follow this to get to the latest cfw https://3ds.hacks.guide/installing-boot9strap-(soundhax)

yes the sys prefix means cfw is running on sysnand you can update safely
Ok, sorry for begin so annoying, but, If I update the sys-patched-nand, what happen if I ever remove the boot9strap? The system will remain at the firmware update?
