ROM Hack Updating hacked 3ds

Hi,
I have a hacked 3ds with luma 3ds and a9lh on 9.2 firmware whenever im trying to install a new game from the free shop it says that i need 9.6+ fw my question is can i update to a newer version and the hack will remain as it was? Or is there another way to update for a hacked systems

It's safe to update to 11.2.0-35.
