Hi all,

I'm trying to update godmode9 from 1.1.8 to the last version which is today 1.6.3.
After the copy/paste of GodMode9.firm file into luma/payloads & gm9 directory into sd card root, I'm still in 1.1.8 version.

Did I forget a step ? What is wrong there ?
Thank you for your help.

If you don't have the Luma3DS boot.firm on the root of your SD card, or if you are using an incompatible version of Luma3DS on the root of your SD card, then your 3DS is probably loading Luma3DS and the 1.1.8 version of GodMode9 from your CTRNAND.

Alternatively, you might be using the A9LH version of GodMode9 1.1.8, and you would need to install B9S to use the B9S version.

Here is the screenshot attached.
It seems that I can boot on the 3ds without sd card, normal boot or boot to godmode9.
That means that it's loading godmode9 from the nand. Laclus, you were right.

Please hold Select while powering on your 3DS. On the Luma3DS configuration settings, what version is displayed at the top of the page?

What version of b9s do you have? 1.1.8 works with b9s 1.0 whereas gm9 1.6.3 is only going to work with b9s 1.3
As of right now your gm9 is relying on what you put in nand is my guess

According to this post :
There's a way to check with godmode9
Sysnand virtual -> firm0.bin -> FIRM image options -> Mount image to drive -> header.bin -> calculate sha256

The boot9strap versions will have header sha256's based on this chart:

1.0: 5C3B0CD4FE0C4987AF764B9FEFAD8B8ED39929E6EA9A8F6D782C2409BB16930A
1.1: 893A8A5B9B87FD1869AAA0BAE9BCAA3C9102DFEC1FFACB2561321F53B6091884
1.2: 9DDE2F7258FD1EE88EDE335ED781053F8925269D8720FE87BE4E2BD35B5990D3
1.3: 7C2E1DC860858BF9C7285915957FE64AF3B1B812C57FCB2C417881D31EE4246C

=> I have the version 1.0

I'm stuck at this step
Section II - Installing boot9strap
  1. Launch Luma3DS chainloader menu by holding (Start) during boot
  2. Launch SafeB9SInstaller by pressing (A)
Problem :
When I select start it launches godmode9.
I click on select ... than i have Luma3DS version 7.1.
I don't see how to launch SafeB9SInstaller ?

Put boot.firm from Luma 7.1 on your SD card. The version of B9S you have is only compatible with Luma 7.1, so if you have a different version in your SD card it will load from the one in your system, and only be able to use the payloads in your system (which is only GodMode9 1.1.8).
If you put a compatible boot.firm on your SD card then it will load from the SD card and have access to the payloads on the SD card.
