Hacking Update Games On Gateway With N3DS?

Hello,
I am curious how I can update my gateway games with my New 3DSXL... normally you can just go to the eshop to update, but since 9.7 is not compatible yet with emunand, I am unable to access the eshop to do this. How do I update games? Thanks

I have 2 8GB SD Cards, one for in my system that is filled with CIAs (I know how to update those) and the other goes into my gateway, and has a few .3ds files. Should I just put my games that I want updated on my system via CIAs?
