Hey together,
I have a N3DS 9.0 with Pasta CFW. I'm not very familiar with all the CFW stuff and happy that everything is running fine. So I don't want to reset my whole system to install a better CFW.

But is there a way to update the system to the newest FW (Emunand) without losing my Pasta CFW?

As long as you are in EmuNAND then yes, it is safe to update. I would advise moving to A9LH + Luma3DS which is the most updated and recent CFW ( https://plailect.github.io/Guide ), or even just have EmuNAND with Luma3DS instead of PastaCFW, it's a lot better and safer.

Thanks for your reply. As I said: I'm absolutely not familiar with 3DS Hacking. I'm happy that everything is running and don't want to lose any saves or reinstall 20+ games. I also don't want to play online etc. I just need to update because Pokemon Moon seems to need the newest firmware.

So, can I install the newest firmware manually from my SD card without connecting with the Internet? I have a little bit fear to lose my data.

If you have EmuNAND, you won't lose anything if you update. Are your NANDs linked? (Did you format sysNAND after making EmuNAND?)
Just remember NOT to update sysNAND. I'm not sure how Pasta works, which is why I recommend changing to Luma3DS, but honestly, someone else will have to explain, I'm not sure how to if you want to keep using *hax and not install A9LH.
