Hacking Update and saves

Hi,
I'm on EmuNand 6.3 and I want to update via UpdateCDN, but I heard somewhere that 6.3 saves are incompatible with higher firmwares.
What should I do?

If you're using gateway and roms saves should work regardless of the firmware number.
