So....we really shouldn't be worried, given the fact SSB4 is out soon? I unplugged my Ethernet as a precaution as soon as I saw this thread. Sorry, just being unnecessarily paranoid.

Not really, the browser is diverse enough that it shouldn't be difficult to find another exploit. In particular, libpng and libjpeg are 2 good candidates along with Webkit itself (what we were talking about).

[20:47:59] <waddlesplash> but all this stuff you've said is really useful
[20:48:09] <waddlesplash> I can see 2-3 attack vectors already
[20:48:20] <waddlesplash> hopefully I can get at least one of them to fly

Well, then, what advice would you give to those on 5.2.0 right now?

I can comment on that later after I have some time to think. For now, I would just wait. You don't just randomly update to something that now supports Amiibo and expect it to not matter :P Hopefully someone can get a teardown of an Amiibo figure relatively soon. But TBH my answer is most likely going to be the same as before: if you're not a developer, feel free to update.

Fair enough, might wait a bit longer till more details are found. :P

So, we're pretty much shit out of luck, judging from what's been said. That's just wonderful. Not. I hate to say this, but, does this not seem like a losing battle? With Smash coming out, which is said to have 5.2.0, and now this, what are we supposed to do?
you mean 5.3.0? if this is the update that add ammibo support than this is the one that will be on smash.

Undoubtedly, but I'll go by what NWPlayer123 said earlier, that something is being worked on, but also and I quote, "if you're not a developer, feel free to update." Surely, something must be being developed...

this is what is going to happen from now on every single game nintendo or it's 2nd party releases will have one of these updates. and since 3rd party is almost extinct on the wiiu these are the only games to get now.

I hope it don't :(

Reread what NWPlayer123 said above, " if you're not a developer, feel free to update."

Bladexdsl Maybe I'm wrong, but, it would seem almost as it you never want to see the console get hacked or otherwise modded in some way. Given the posts I see, you give the impression that you support Nintendo and would rather they make it impossible to hack. Am I wrong. It seems you post something to immediately defuse any glimmer of hope that we have when it comes to seeing an exploit.

it's a losing battle and i'm the only one that seems to be able to see it. the wiiu has 1 maybe 2 more years left and it's finished. because of nintendos arrogant, archaic ways on how they want to do business they are once again in 3rd place. they failed once again to meet the market and it's cost the wiiu an earlier death than usual. all that's left are their games to get now forget about 3rd party. the wiiu is finished hacking it won't matter soon. what will be the point to pirate under 10 games that would have been released way b4 the exploit comes. i don't see the point anymore.

I have yet to muck with the USB bus, I need to make/get a USB fuzzer type device first... More time aswell, I will try to rush my work a little to get this done.

From my point of veiw the WiiU is #1. :-/

You sounds like Featal error...

Kidding :D

What are you doing with usb?

Basicly to find an expoit in the USB code in the iosu, full controll real quick if I can figure it out. (Did the PS3 have the same type of thing, I know the Chromecast did.)

If that's the way you want to feel or see it, so be it, I can't force you to accept or deny anything. Whatever. If it bothers you so much, why do you even post in the Wii U hacking sections? No wonder devs feel unmotivated.
