Hey guys, I was planning to buy a PS4 this year but with the delay of uncharted, I'm kind of undecided. I have a gaming PC (emulating Wii/GC/PS2), hacked PS3/Vita/3DS/PSP/Ds Lite and Wii U.

My rule for buying a console is it having 5-10 titles I want to play. At the moment, as far as I know the PS4 has: TLOU Remastered, Bloodborne, Final Fantasy Type-0 and PES 2015.

Upcoming I only know of Persona 5 which is coming out in 2015 which is exclusive. Am I missing any more exclusive titles which are due out for 2015 which I can't get on my PC/Vita? I feel like I'm missing something. I feel like I will probably buy the console the second KH3 drops but I doubt that bitch is coming out anytime this year

P.S. I am extremely jealous of you guys playing Bloodborne. If it weren't for the mention of 40 second load times (I die A LOT in souls games), I might've picked up a PS4+Bloodborne day 1 against my normal buying pattern.

Persona 5 isn't exclusive to the PS4. It'll also be on the PS3. But, honestly, according to your rule it's not even close to worth it.

    1. TLOU is already playable on the PS3.
    2. Persona 5 will be playable on the PS3.
    3. Final Fantasy Type-0 is playable on the PSP.
If you take those into consideration, you only have two, or with Bloodborne, three games that need to be played on a PS4. I have a similar rule myself, which is why I don't have a PS4, even though I can afford it. There just aren't enough titles yet to persuade me, and I'm guessing like you, I have a huge backlog of games I'm interested in that don't require a $400 purchase. At the end of the day, though, it's your decision. You know it's gonna be used eventually. If you don't mind spending $400 on a device that will gather dust most of the year, go for it.

Excellent points. Yeah sadly I can't bring myself to buy it based in the facts. I predict another PS4 price drop in a year or so too.

And yes, a HUUUUGE backlog lol.

My planned games to tackle in the next few months are:

    Golden Sun
    Persona 4
    Last Story
    FF 6
    The Witcher
    Deus Ex

To be fair TLOU Remastered plays a ton better than TLOU on PS3.

Type-0 isn't even localized. If you really want to play it on a PSP (and really, who would want to do that?) and track down the translation patch (which has been C&D'd on every goddamn site) then congratulations. Otherwise, you can play it on the PS4 with better graphics and better controls and bonus content.

Bloodborne is definitely worth playing. inFamous was also pretty good and there's a ton of multiplats (mostly just PC/XB1/PS4) that are worth having a next gen console for.

+1 for Bloodborne if you like the Souls series this game is for you! I can't think of much else atm that is a must have title for PS4 only but I am looking forward to Until Dawn later this year. Witcher 3 is multiplat but I'm unsure if I want to get into a 200+ hr game lol and of course there is also Batman and Star Wars later this year but both are multiplat.
There are whispers of some secret exclusives for PS4 to be shown at E3 and then released for this fall so we'll have to wait and see!

Not for me. Multi plats will always be played on my PC. I can't deal with the shitty frame rates of next gen consoles and turned down effects like tessellation which I've gotten used to over the years. I remember when my cousin bought is PS4 and played FIFA for the first time and I had to pretend to be impressed lol. Also my love of mods has grown recently. I'm playing Witcher 1 with mods and it actually looks pretty god damn good considering how old it is. The beauty of the PC community.

I've already played TLOU on PS3 so waiting a year or two for me to forget the game is probably a positive. Infamous I do have on PS+ but heard its short and don't fancy playing it before I've played infamous 1+2. Definitely a title I forgot about tho, thanks!!

Bloodborne is a big title I want. Also FF15, KH3, Uncharted!! God damn delays!

The fact that Kojima left doesn't mean that Silent Hills was cancelled - the game is being developed by a team of programmers and Del Toro and Kojima are just heads of the project. Kojima already spoke up and said that despite his departure he'll still be involved in MGSV: The Phantom Pain, I wouldn't be surprised if the same applied to Silent Hills. The future of the game is uncertain, but it hasn't been cancelled as of yet and it would seem that it's at an advanced stage of development, so there's really no reason to drop it.

Which of those are billed for 2015?

Until Dawn's premise looks excellent.. hope they don't go too heavy on the cut scenes.

3 or 4 of those were sadly available on PC.

There are some games you can play only on PS4 right now:-
    1) inFamous Second Son (and also the DLC - First Light)
    2) Bloodborne (I've never played the Souls games, yes I struggled alot in the beginning but slowly I got better, yes I still die but not as much as when I started).
    3) TLOU Remastered (I've gotten this on PS3 and PS4, but I'll always recommend it for the PS4 because not only does it look better it also plays better, PS3 version had framerate drops).
And seriously, people are just over reacting on the load times, YES they are long BUT it's the only freaking loading in the game! Once you're in the surface world there is no loading unless you die.

    Yeah I semi-agree.

Sadly I've been a PC gamer for ages now so any load time more than 20 seconds is just too much for me. Definitely in a game like Bloodborne where I would die a lot since I LOVE souls games but I'm pretty shit at them. Hopefully they patch it, and then ontop of that I'll slap in an SSD for it.

I didn't mind TLOU's initial load. I remember on my PS3 it would take forever to boot up once it did, I could play it forever with no load times.

Yeah totally agree on TLOU. The framerate really hurt it at times from a gameplay perspective. Such a masterpiece though!
