Hacking Unusual problems on 3.4

I installed the HBC on a friend's Wii a while ago, and since than he disregarded my warnings not to upgrade to 3.3 v2. It was too late by the time I heard. His Wii had already auto-updated to 3.4 and the Backup Loader ceased to function. Furthermore, his shop channel won't work even on the latest update. Normally, this wouldn't be a problem, but he wants DLC, and can't get wii points. I tried the procedure to downgrade from 3.4 to 3.1, but on every app that had to download a file from the net crashed. So I need some help, either downgrading to a lower firmware revision or just getting the backup loader and DLC working. Help me!

The Errors I get look like this:

Also, It appears Starfall is still installed. Homebrew apps go back to the menu just as if they were real channels, however improbable/impossible that may sound.

Whatever. My friend just said he agreed to the new WiiConnect24 terms and the next day it was on 3.4.

I did all that, but I get errors at IOS Downgrader. Will trying it over and over again really work?

Also, your friend is a liar. His Wii did not autoupdate.

No updates so far have been "auto", it has all been manual so far, including 3.4

The only way your friend's Wii updated to 3.4 is if your friend physically clicked the Update button then physically hit "Yes" to update.

Either that or someone else in his house updated for him.

It did not magically update.

If you really want to downgrade, then you should go retrieve Bushing's Semi-Fix disc over at www.hackmii.com

There, get the disc that goes with your Friend's region, use Wiiscrubber/Trucha to extract the IOS30.wad and System Menu.wad

Install IOS30 with WadManager first, then the System Menu.

This will take you to Firmware 3.2

No offense, but shut up. And why waste a perfectly good friendship because a friend updated to 3.3v2, anyway? if you think like that, you're friends are probably all gone now. He has several siblings, so I wouldn't be surprised if they updated for him. All I know is that one day, he came to his Wii and it was at 3.4.

Tell him to use Parental Controls.

That way, only those who know the 4 digit code can update the Wii.

Sure. Your friend did the update. I believe you did it. You intentionally updated because you knew you could downgrade. And now you're stuck.
