I've been using UNC Ultra N card for some time and having problems saving. Immediately after saving the game, I restarted the game and the save game is still there. But if i play the game another day, the saved game wasn't there anymore. I've tried using different firmwares and it doesn't seem to help. I'm at my wits end...really need some help

it more than likely the battery, loads of people have issues with these, thats the reason why if you switch on straight after your save there, but if not for a few days it gone, your battery is near dead, i would recommend replacin that or send it back for a new one

there is a battery test app in the ncard an clones downloads section

Hey Zac, check ur PM

i downloaded the batt test into my ds and i got the msg,

commencing diagnostic

chip query
resp: ff 00 12 ff
MK5 2mbit detected OK

previous test data -Not Found-

erasing chip...done

checking...done

writing test data...done

verifying test data...ERR:0:ff-4d

ERR: data mismatch

**Test Failed**

Does it actually mean the UNC is faulty?Batt dead?

Not sure about the test results, but from what you described sounds like a classic case of a dead battery.

It's a known problem with the N-Card - Dead battery on arrival. The only thing you can do is send it back for a replacement.

If for some reason you can't get a replacement, you'll just have to do what you've already figured out - You'll need to turn your DS off and on again to allow the save game to be written from the battery to a .sav file. The N-Card stores your save game in battery until you turn it on again. If your battery's dead it won't have enough power to store it until the next day.

The place you bought it from should know straight away what you're talking about if you tell them the battery's dead, and give you a replacement - if they don't, send them over here and we'll beat them up for you.
