Hardware Unable to install hactool in Ubuntu

I've been at this for hours and I'm at my wits end. I've read the READMEs over and over, scoured through pages of stackoverflow trying to figure out how I can get the already made/compiled hactool to install.

When I run sudo make install, i get this error message:
Code:
*** No rule to make target 'install'.  Stop.

I can't figure out what to do from here. Everything else has gone perfectly, and being stuck on this last step is incredibly frustrating. I use ubuntu for financial reasons, so I'm not great at computers but usually even I can at least compile and install something.

The makefile doesnt have the command to install it in the applications folder, but you can still use it, cause the bin is there. Only execute it using a terminal, like this:
