I recently updated Ultra sun using freeshop and when I boot Ultra Sun I get a message “an exception occurred” with a long string of codes. Before I updated, this never happened. Does anyone know why and how to fix it?

Did you have any code IPS patches (or code.bin files) in 'luma/titles/00040000001B5000/'?
if so, then you'll need to either update the code patches or code.bin for the new version of the game,
or remove the code patches / code.bin from that folder, then your game should boot again.
