i downloaded the channel from the wiki page, but whenever i go to start it, it says some sort of error about a file or folder, and sends me straight to the hbc. my tv is pretty old, so i cant read what it says.

anyone know why its sending me straight to the hbc?

Look over the other threads for which loader you want to use, but most of them load the boot.dol located at: /apps/usbloader/

I'm using "Ultimate v7" loader, but there are lots of choices out there.

My tv is a new lcd 40" and i find it hard to read all text on screen from any game, seems very blury the wii's out put!

on topic.....

Why would there be a channel (wad) without the actual usbloader in it! and if thats not the problem do you have a folder in the root of your sd called " images "?

so i basically just rename the folder to usbloader and it'll work?

i have both the channel and boot.dol, but i renamed the folder so i'd know which loader it is when i run hbc.

its called a forwarder
instead of containing the apps themselves, they simply load the app in a specific folder on the sd card
So you will still need the sd card inserted, but you don't have to use the HBC
A forwarder has as an advantage that you can let it boot different apps (by just placing the app you want in the folder)
Its also easier to update the channel (replace the boot.dol on the sd card)

Embedded wads are convenient when you have a release that won't be updated for a long while, but the Ultimate USB Loader is revised multiple times each day. A forwarder is a far better choice until the project slows down.
