ok, just so i can be safe, can I use instead of the preloader for example the startpatch 4.1?

And does this guide work for trucha signed games? I only have 1 game trucha signed but still would be good to know that i can play it on the 4.1e menu cause i have still the 3.2e version on my wii with sarfall.

Do I have to uninstall the patches of starfall or just update with the guide?

And the last 2 questions.
I have gecko channel instaled will it be still there when i instal the update and still work?

And can I, when I install the update move the chanell to the sd card and then uninstal the chanel and can it then still work from the sc card?

Thanks for the anwsers in front and sorry for my english.

Kind Regards Minos55

Bootmii as an IOS REQUIRES a GC controller. Only the boot2 install allows you to use the power button to move right and reset button to select as an alternative. The IOS version needs a GC controller though since that won't work on it.
First I would like to say thanks and a great guide.
Would it be possible to add this tidbit to the guide?
I switched batteries twice and remotes once trying to figure out why I didn't have any menu control. :-(
Thanks

Everythign goes great for me until I install preloader, i haev tried loads of times from beginning to end. At the step before loading preloader backup discs will register in the wii menu, however of course they show as system update. When I install preloader and go to the hacks page it says "no hacks available for menu 450" so preloader doesnt support 4.1e only 4.0e and earlier ?

when i reset the console after this i get a black screen, however holding reset lets preloader come up and I can access HBC in order to repeat the process.

Any help please ?

/edit
when i re-install preloader it actualy freezes on install done, laoding preloader ... waiting 5s ....

ive waited 10 minutes and it does nothing, reboot and my tv says no signal, reboot with reset down and i get preloader. choose system menu off preloader out of interest and i get a black screen.
To fix " loading preloader... waiting 5s ... " try this:

Try following everything like that video shows and see if anything turns out to say something different.

QUOTE(stanleyopar2000 @ Aug 3 2009, 07:58 PM) is there something WITHOUT BootMii!?

my dad or mom would say i "fucked up the wii..with that "illegal" "hackin""

Just install it and rename the "bootmii" folder to "dontbootmii" or whatever you want that isn't bootmii after you use it to back up your NAND and stuff. Then it won't boot at start and they'd never know the difference and you would have a failsafe if you actually do "fuck up the wii with that illegal hackin".

hey guys,
Im having trouble with this (online way).

I did everything right but it just wont update to 4.1.
I tried doing the updater 4.1 twice but it just stays the same at 3.2U

Do the dop-IOS step to install IOS60 then run the updater again.

It seems that I had to get 4.0 before the 4.1 update to work but a new problem showed up.

I been on 3.2U for 6 months without any problems and the second i got 4.1 to work i keep getting the error. it shows up when i have a burn/real disc in.
"An error has occurred. Press the eject button and remove the disc, then turn the Wii console off and refer to the Wii operations manual for help troubleshooting"

Did I do something wrong? help

im running 3.1U if i use the 3.2U files will that give me problems?

I'm assuming you mean when it asks what region to select in the offline prepare.bat. You are supposed to select the region that you want to GO to, so you should select either 4.0U or 4.1U depending on what you want to upgrade to.

The 002 error? What are you using to load the games? If you aren't using Neogamma R6 or R7, you should be.

I'd just be in the systemmenu, and when the disc spins, it gives me that error in a black screen. so i have to reset.
ill get Neogamma R6 and see what happens.

is there a way to remove the disc channel from the systemmenu?

Am I allowed to ask questions here? I got to the preloader, installed successfully. I reset to get to it as said,

But when I click "Systemmenu Hacks", it says there isn't a hack.ini

How can I resolve that? I recall seeing hack.ini in the sd folder contents. Other than that, this was beyond helpful!
