Gaming Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 DS!!!

i love punching someone in Mortal Kombat and only the top of my body my move lol

Mortal Kombat was good with MK1 and MK2 everything else BLOWS

I won't be surprised if online WiFi doesn't happen. Especially in a fighting game, I don't think the DS's WiFi abilities are fast enough for that.

In fact, I'll be surprised if the local Wifi works out. I don't see it happening.

About firiggin time the system gets a fighting game, and they had the sense to make it online lol i can see it now. Finally a fair good game to play against someone, also one everyone knows how to play.

Online play might be laggy, but local multiplayer should be fine. The DS can transmit at least 25KB/second, which is more than 400 bytes per frame at 60 FPS. That should be plenty for a fighting game.

The local multiplayer in Bleach seemed to work just fine, and it had up to 4 players in battle at once.

This game could be great. I just hope they don't mess up with the controls make it stylus only, or you have to use the stylus for the fatalities. When you uppercut someone through the roof, the action could transfer to the top screen. At last hopefully a good fighting game on the DS.

from IGN:
QUOTEIGN: Any touch screen functionality being inserted in there?

Ed Boon: We are also working on some ideas for the touch screen. However, since the player's hands will be busy with the direction pad and the attack buttons, we probably won't do something crazy like having the player touch the screen for punches and kicks.

IGN: An early screenshot of the game shows that the second screen's only being used to display a logo. Is this just an early mock-up? What sort of ideas do you have planned for the extra display?

Ed Boon: That was an early mockup. We are experimenting with different ways to use the DS's extra screen. In Puzzle Kombat we are utilizing the upper screen to display the puzzle fighters as well as the Death Traps. This lets us devote the entire lower screen to the actual puzzle play. As for the fighting we are working on a few ideas but haven't fleshed them all out and aren't quite ready to share them just yet. We don't want to radically change the control scheme for this game but would also like to introduce a new feature that takes advantage of the hardware. We will definitely keep you posted.

I don't think they'll be using the stylus..
As for the other screen.. the roof thing would be nice.. I think would be good if they could display your character special moves and fatalities/babalities/etc in there.

YES!! I'm so excited about this. I'm even more excited that they didnt bother creating a crappy 3D MK for the DS.

I'm guessing it'll be a cool game. New mortal kombats are trash though, so I guess it's better they remade the 2d one for the ds.
If it's WiFi, even better.

MK... I LOVED this game on my SNES a while back...

Oh wait, I'm currently playing UMK3 on my SNES. But UMK3 + Wi-Fi + Portability > SNES UMK

No Nero I'm not Stalking. Just surprised to hear people played it on SNES. I mean I know it was out there. But growing up I only ever saw MK played on a Sega system. How did the game play with only four buttons? was it as comfortable? Did they use should buttons aswell? I know I'll have this answered on the DS version but I'm still used to Sega's six button controls for the game. (Hardly surprising since I still play my Mega Drive)
