UMK3 is a sweet game, wonder how it will go with the DS's controls?

Ultimate Mortal Kombat on DS, wow that's awesome, I loved mortal kombat 1-3 from when I was young. But mortal kombat on the ds + online! wow!

I'm very excited for this, I really hope they don't screw it up. Finally a good fighting game. Hopefully they make better AI than the crappy Mortal Kombat Advance.

Jump super stars and Ultimate stars are good fighting games for the ds. Theres is a slightly completed english patch somewhere for jump super stars and there is a full translation project still going strong for the Ultimate stars

IGN had an interview with Ed Boon (One of the original MK Creators) about the DS game earlier today. They talked about the GBA game, and how Boon had nothing to do with it and they just threw it onto a lame Developer who had no idea what they were doing. For the DS game, it's the same group that just did UMK3 for the 360, with Ed Boon helping too.

OH NO! My thumb is hurting already just from the thought of it! I freakin' LOVE MK! First of the big name Beat 'Em Up's I tried was SF2, but MK has always had my heart, mainly due to the insanity of it. (And "Toastie!")

lol at that video showing that Mortal Kombat has depth. It just shows that the fighting system's really broken. Heck, they intentionally put 70% damage+ dial-a-combos that you can conveninatly do from running.

I'll still pirate this though!!!!!

I always have a poor choice of words with pretty much everything I say. When I said showed depth, I ment by all the arguments I ever hear against MK is that it's so slow and it's just special move, uppercut, stupid combo.

Broken or not, you actually need to have the reflexes to pull that kind of stuff off, and if a player falls into one of those then it's their own fault.

Finally! I thought this would end up like King of Fighters DS with nothing said since its announcement.

Should be better than the previous GBA port as Ed Boon is involved and hes making it arcade perfect. I actually liked MK Tournament Edition, well it was better than Tekken Advance thats for sure!

Its nice that they won't use the screen to punch and kick, I'm sure that could work for an original DS fighter but not MK. I hope theres a lot of unlockables too.

Now lets hope SNK suddenly announces that KoF DS is still in the works.

I liked MK alot more then street fighter as a kid, just because it had better balance
while people could argue street fighter 3 fixed that, that was years too late

as by that time, kof took over my life (kof combo's are alot like mk/Ki chains anyway)

For everyone how think UMK3 is slow or broken, it is not.
First of, that combo video show,s combos that are extremly hard to do and almost not doable in a real vs match.

Second, UMK3 is not slow, its freaking fast, it has a run button and the gameplay is all about offense.

They took UMK3 with a reason, its the most balanced and best VS 2D MK at all.

UMK3 is no 3rd Strike or Garou, but it has a solid gameplay engine with not many broken elements at all.
