It's like saying "Oh, Final Fantasy XIII isn't on the Wii because Square Enix is too lazy to recode".

To add on to prowler:

They could pretty easily put the original on the Wii considering MvC3 uses the Tatsunoko vs. Capcom engine. The graphics wouldn't be as spiffy but hey, welcome to the world of Wii. They didn't put it on there because they didn't want to.

EDIT: Also because the game would pretty severely hampered on the Wii, much like if they brought FFXIII over. If they did, I would cringe heavily.

I hate it when they release so many versions of the same game. Why not just update the original games as DLC or something?

Capcom charged $5 per character for Jill and Shuma, DLC characters for MvC3.

UMvC3 adds 12 characters, a spectator mode, rebalancing (which should be a free update and doesn't really count), and who knows what else.

Looking only at the characters that'd be $60 of DLC characters.
UMvC3 is retailing for $40.
It also standardizes everyone so they're all on the same page competitive scene wise.

Granted, I'd love to see all these characters as a free update, but Capcom can get away with it and they will continue to do so.

MK9 on the other hand is fighting an uphill battle for popularity, they need to use every trick they can to get people to stick to their game such as free DLC everything.

Don't mean to bump the topic, but over on shoryuken.com, they are holding a post poll as to who people what to see as DLC on UMvC3.

IF ANY OF MY FELLOW MEGAMAN FANS TRULY CARE AND ACTUALLY WANT ANY TYPE (mainly classic or X, by which go for X as he has a better chance of making it in) IN THE GAME GO SIGN UP AND VOTE TO HAVE YOUR VOICE HEARD.
