Hacking Two questions: Same header online and old save game

I patched a Mario Kart 7 rom and it's working great online.
But what happens when someone with the same header goes online while I'm playing online? I experienced some disconnections yesterday and I tought that could be someone with the same header as me trying to login and got me disconnected.

Any way to make the old .sav file work with the new .3dz patched rom? Can I change the save file "header" to match my new rom?

As of now I don't think anything happens when someone else connects (although Ninty may eventually wise up and start banning people). I'm not sure about the latter but I don't THINK so - not 100% sure though.

I have my own header and I get disconnected sometimes so is a normal issue
