After about a month, the people at zelda.de.comp have completely decompiled The Legend Of Zelda: Twilight Princess. The code is currently being analyzed. After this, this may lead to ports to other platforms, as well as other things using the code.

I'm very curious to see what the community does with this decompilation. Twilight Princess is a fan favorite, but it does have some glaring flaws. Will there be a PC port? Will Twilight Princess release on the Dreamcast? Will fans remove the tutorial parts, add an orchestral soundtrack, or increase the difficulty? I've seen several people consider an Ocarina of Time full-conversion mod.

I'm expecting the team to tackle the Wind Waker decomp next, since it seems to have received the most attention during the Twilight Princess project.

In related news, the Silent Hill decompilation project has reached 88.68%!

Why isn't this front page news?
I do appreciate that we celebrate these decompilations when they happen, but it's more practical to start the real fireworks when the ports and mods start showing up. Those are more tangible for the majority of endusers.

Since I posted last, the Silent Hill decompilation project has jumped up to 88.91%. Amazing work.

PC Port Playtest Footage
I don't really know if a playtest video is worth writing up a post for (also a bit stretched right now) but at least wanted to share it for those interested in the PC port. There are two active projects at the moment, with Dusk being the one I'm most interested in. Being able to enable the Wii's mirrored world on a button press is just stellar. Can't wait.

My big hope is that it gets an easy to use randomiser like the Ship ports have had. Genuinely revolutionises Zelda games for me. I've spent hundreds of hours playing Ocarina of Time because of it.

Gotta love randomizing the Poe/Twilight Bug/Golden Bugs hunt for completionists.

I imagine it's not tooooo different to randomising the Skulls in OoT or Gratitude Crystals in SS... I'm looking forward to learning a new game, I got really into Skyward Sword HD when that randomiser came out.
