If I wanted to install WAD's, I'd need to apply the HomeBrew channel, via the Zelda TP disc.
If I borrowed a Twilight Princess backup from my friend, could I use that to install the Homebrew channel if I have a WiiKey 2 + WiiClip?

Basically:
Install homebrew on a chipped Wii with a BACKUP copy of Zelda.

If you have a chip, could you not just install homebrew via an ISO?? hmm, saves a lot of hassle

If your burn it to an ISO it would be a waste of a DVD, but then again its not like DVD's can get any cheaper

It would just be best to buy a dvd-r pack for 5 to ten dollars then just burn the installer to the dvd. its much easier.

So I don't need Zelda:TP to install homebrew on a chipped Wii?
Sweet, even easier!

(I'm assuming that I can install the homebrew channel via ISO, and I can just install WAD's from an SD card from then on)

Just a note it only works on a wii's firmware which is 3.2 and below. If your firmware is above that then you will have to resort to the Zelda Twilight Princess method.

So can I install the Homebrew Channel via ISO (without Zelda:TP)?
Or are you talking about installing each individual channel via ISO?

You can install HBC through ISO without Zelda, given that your firmware is 3.2 and below.

Once you got HBC installed, you can transfer apps into an SD Card, and launch it via HBC.

I likely have above 3.2 (still haven't opened it yet: DAMN FINALS!).
I guess I'll need to get my friend's backup copy of Zelda.

Would a scrubbed NTSC ISO of Zelda be fine for this one-time thing?
I have a USA console.

I have a 3.3U menu version.

Can I use a PAL version of Twilight Princess?

Better yet, is there an easier way to downgrade/install WAD's on a 3.3?

My modchip installation was a success!

I installed the HBC from the iso on my wiikey modded wii. i'm still on fw 3.2 or 3.3.

will i loose homebrew when updating to fw 3.4?
should i install the twilight hack first?

the best scenario would be: current fw with full homebrew compatibility. is this goal realistic?
