shall we go 50/50 for blame on that one then? My thread title was a stupid hasty freak-out

There's no way to use it. It's encrypted for use on one Wii. I don't see why people don't get this. We've been able to copy channels to SD for ages, but for some reason people now believe that it's just possible to copy a channel to an SD card and use it on any Wii. What, you guys believe Nintendo is that stupid?!

Dude
Firstly, relax
Now, nobody here believes you can copy a regular content.bin from one wii to another. What we're interested in is the nature of this particular content.bin (of unknown origin) that was posted to a respected website.

It's not like I'm mad or something. I just don't understand how people can believe this will work

I don't even doubt that this is just a regular content.bin, but if you do, I guess it could be interesting. Just don't forget that people have been working on a WAD installer to pirate Virtual Console and WiiWare games and people have had the chance to hack the encryption for more than two years now. Now, some random guy edits a publicly available wiki and posts a RAR file with a content.bin that doesn't look special in any way. The respected website you're talking about is a wiki, meaning it has absolutely no meaning. Marcan, who is without a doubt respectable, deleted that file.

I'm not saying it IS or IS NOT something special. It's innocent until someone tests it, right? But let's face it, Marcan would delete a leaked file right away, same as he might delete a fake file. I don't see why the post wasn't removed.

my ******* wii says "this aplication canot be used on this console" or something ...

Stephan Kliem is the ONLY person in the world who can install the HBC on 4.0 with this, this is why he is so special
