I have a New 3DS XL Demo unit, I know it's a demo unit because it powers on as soon as you plug it in, and when you unplug it it waits a second then turns off.
I've read posts from a few years ago, but since 3DS hacking has progressed so much since then, I wanted to know if there is any way to make this not turn off when it's unplugged.

It can Aldo be a bad battery? Try another battery

They are designed for retailers. When a shop closes they just turn off the power and all 3DS demo units shuts down instead of running on battery. This reduce the need to manually turning them off.

Also makes it useless for anyone to resale demo units.
You could manually wire the charge port, but it's unable to charge the battery
