Like I already worte use Super :
http://www.erightsoft.com/SUPER.html

it will encode very fast at pretty good quality...

hit... ARE YOU SURE ? no Divx for the PSP ? rly ?

EDIT: FAST6191 Super is capable of encoding in ffmpeg aswell, but it isn't listed on that site... any reaso for it not being there ?

I like SUPER's options in conversion:

Output format
Output video codec (XviD in this case)
Output audio codec
Video Scale
Aspect ratio
Framerate
Bitrate
Hi Quality
Audio frequency
Audio channels
Audio bitrate

etc

The only divx program for psp is a Divx to MP4 converter
But no Divx player at all

Can super ( encoding program) embedd subtitles within encoding ?
If no, does anybody know some easy-to-use-interface program that encodes
divx movies with subtitles.

Virtual Dub, here's a way to do that, which I found after some googlin'

QUOTELoad the video into Virtual Dub. Select Video-->Filters...-->Add-->TextSub. When the TextSub requester appears, load the subtitle file-->OK-->OK.

Now when you play the movie, the subs will appear in the output window, usually the video on the right. If the subs look good to you, save under a different file name, using the codec you want.

I managed to encode subtitles with total video converter but after about 10 minutes of stable playing this program gone unstable and it ended with bad audio and video synchronization (I think I will wait for more stable version of that program).

thats one of the problems with this at the moment, if the bitrate is too high, after roughly 10 minutes of playing the sound goes out of sync, and then probably about 2-5 minutes after the sound goes out of sync the player will crash. Use the listed config when encoding

video
Bitrate - >240, i've tried 325m this is where the problem occured but i have yet to try anything inbetween
fps - 12
Codec - Xvid

Audio
Single Channel
Sample rate - 32000
Bitrate - 96k
Codec mp3.

thank you Incomplete ! this settings work great with Super (the encoder) I can watch vids without any sync issues now. I just hope chishm will implement a file browser and a seek bar so we finally have another Mediaplayer .

The PMP format uses XviD in a special container. I'm sure you could easily use DivX in it, as they are mostly the same.
