So I have a new new 3ds XL with 10.1. I did tubehax but I can't get the themes to stick. Everything I close it or turn it off the theme is gone. How to I make it stick?

What program are you using to install custom themes? CHMM?

I think CHMM is often used now to install custom themes due to its ease of use. A new version of it is coming out very soon.

CHMM is extremely simple, just drop the themes into the Themes folder inside CHMM's folder, then run it, select the theme, and voilá.
Note that you need to be using one of the five colored themes before applying one.

Also I'm not sure if it's really that necessary to wait for the update, at least I don't see any functionality that could be added.

Also you should've titled the post something like "Can't get custom themes to stick", not Tubehax because that's not descriptive at all.

What? That it matters which hax you are using? Then in that case you should've titled it "Can't get... ON TUBEHAX". BTW they are all the same, so it doesn't matter as long as you can get in.

Anyway... themes will go into a folder called "Themes" at the root of the SD card. Like so:
    • SD:\Themes\My theme\body_LZ.bin
    • SD:\Themes\My theme\Preview.png
    • SD:\Themes\My theme\bgm.bcstm <-- this file doesn't always exist
To use them once you get CHMM, first set the theme at the HOME Menu to any basic or "no theme". Then open CHMM, choose a theme, and press A. That's it.

The next update to CHMM will allow for custom theme shuffling. More info on that later.

A bit off topic, but how can I preview the bottom screen on CHMM2?

Actually, they go on the Themes folder inside CHMM's folder (sd:/3ds/CHMM/Themes). At least that's how I got it set up.
If you move the circle pad down you can pan the preview (if it includes the bottom screen that is).

Only if you are using Ninjhax 1.x.
In CHMM2 the top and bottom previews will fade on the top screen.

It doesn't work. It used to work in CHMM1 though.
