Hi i have recently discovered Winning Eleven 6 Final Evolution for gamecube, now you may or may not know that this particular game is a Japanese release so its all in Japanese. I have found an english translation patch, which is a PPF file. I have tried to patch my backup ISO file using PPFoMatic but it seems to have done nothing to the iso, the game is exactly as it was before patching.
I have used PPFoMatic tons before when i used to patch the Pro Evo games on PS2.

I really wanna play this game properly ie understanding the menus etc, as i use to own a ajp n64 version back in the day and this is the version that comes closest to that in my opinion.

Does anybody have any idea what i am doing wrong or does anybody know where i can find a prepatched version of this game? (Sorry if i am not supposed to ask that here)

its ok i found out that i was using a padded shrunk iso... Found another elsewhere and hey presto patching worked first time and i can now enjoy the best cube football game, with english menus :)

I'm trying to get it to work also!

I've patched the iso using PPF-omatic. But I seem to be having trouble with the save data part of it.

I've tried converting the save file ending in .GCI and converting it to .RAW format, using the Dolphin emulator. But there is no guide on what to name the file? So, I looked up the game ID and what I ended up calling it was GW6J.raw. I then put it into the SAVES FOLDER where the GameCube Roms live (external USB), but it didn't seem to read it when booting the game.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hey mate I have this problem some time ago, the solution is delete the raw file on the save folder of nintendont, now open the game and create a new data like nothing ever happened, THAT NEW RAW is the file that you can open an edit on Dolphin, delete the intern data and import the GCI file from the patch, now that raw with the 4 first letters ID is that you use on nintendont, you know put the setting Memcard emulation On, and put OFF the multi card.

That will work

(Tip: Create a back up for avoid that situation I do the same haha)

If you want I can send you my own raw file on pm,

Dude!!! It worked! THANK YOU -oh man, that was killing me.

Where I went wrong was I imported the .gci save file into Dolphin's Memory Card Manager using a blank .RAW file when I should have been using a .RAW file generated by the Gamecube Game itself. All I had to do was delete the save files and import the .gci, just as you suggested.

There's still a few sections not fully translated, but I am not going to complain. At least we have most menus translated with players names. Having one of the best soccer games in my Wii/GCN library is so awesome. I'm also a fan of the wii controls in the Wii version, despite people hating on it.

Thanks again for help, you the real MVP!

I understand your frustration. I was looking for info to make a mod for FIFA (or any GameCube soccer game in general) and I came across your recent question. I always glance around here and don't contribute much, but your problem seemed familiar. I had the same problem years ago, and I started looking through old information on how I had done it. I managed to replicate the problem and voila, I was also able to recreate the solution.

I hope you enjoy the game as much as possible.

[Years ago I managed to open some AFS files within that Winning Eleven game. If you'd like, we can try making a mod one of these days. I still have some of the files I used. Write to me and we'll give it a shot!]
