ROM Hack trying to make pokemon platinum patch

i need a patch for pokemon platinum and i tried the one on the site but megaupload wont allow me to finish the DL so now im gonna make my own patch



now all i need to know is what resources to use and where to get them?

ps:i plan to start by first swaping all the compatible text from D/P versions over to platinum so i need somethin that i can do that with as well

Making a patch is easy, but I think you mean romhacking.
Pokemon I think has a text compression - so you might need to learn some extra.

But I think what the other guy did was do a file swap with D/P.

yea i know buti want to start out with a file swap and move on to the actual act of translation(to get all of the platinum exclusive stuff)

i dont think it'll be hard and i have alot of free time

Sorry, guys. I have a life.

Translation is coming along. I've fixed many of the incorrect text issues by reinserting the japanese text.

I'm in the process of translating some new things now, but my life has been hectic, so I've had no time to work on the patch.

There is no ETA for the next patch. Just keep viewing the thread. I'll update the first page when I update the patch. I'll include some new screenshots, too.

Until then, I won't be checking this thread. Also, I have no time on how to explain how to hack games. If you already know how to MOD nds games, I can give you some help, but I have no time to tutor everyone..

yea i figured as much rykin, so i decided to read the threads on rom hacking
so i've preety much taught myself now i just need to know where to get programs to take apart the roms
and change the text within the game from jap to english

ty to anyone who helps
