hello everyone,

I am new to this and will be soft modding my wii in the next couple of days i have done alot of reading on it and must say this is the most informative site to get info from.

I will be using the bannerbomb exploit with hackmii on my wii which has a serial number of LEH2644..... and just want to find out from all of you who know what you are doing.

I put bannerbomb in the root off the sd card and just the hackmii boot.elf am i correct
then from there it will install homebrew and dvdx etc.

then i have cioscorp 3.6 which i can run? the question i have here is do i need the truncha bug first and if so how do i get it on, or will hackmii do it for me?

I am really a noob with this and am sure that you guys and gals will lead me to do it correctly

thanks for all your help

if you have never tried this, do not use cIOSCORP at all.

Stick to backup loaders like Neogamma or Softchip for now until you know what does what.

You need cIOS to play any type of backup.
You need the trucha bug to install any type of cIOS.

Just to extrapolate, it's trucha, without the n.

My response is the same as the others. Do NOT use cIOSCORP until you know a thing or two about how the Wii's filesystem works. Stick with backup loaders such as Neogamma or USB Loader GX. For you, I'd suggest using the "Modify any Wii" guide in the stickies. Follow it to the letter, and you'll be playing backups in no time!
