So I recently downloaded a custom version of Guitar Hero 3 for my Wii, and I am looking forward to using it. But when I put the disc into the slot, I just get an 'Error Has Occurred' screen, and asks me to turn off the Wii. Does anyone know what I need in order to play the game? Is there and IOS or Homebrew App Required for this process?

Ok thank you. You might not know this but will the game still have the same disc ID? I was wondering in case I may need to remove my Guitar Hero .gct in order to run the game.

Any firmware above 3.2 will not run the disc.
If you have such a system, run it through Gecko OS.
It won't even run through Gecko OS on a Wii above 3.2 (Gecko OS loads Games from other regions but doesn't bring the Trucha bug back).

Well Gecko OS runs with the same IOS as the HBC does if you launch it with the HBC. In most cases that's IOS36, and if your IOS36 has the trucha bug, you should be able to play trucha signed discs with it. If you have a cIOS installed you can easily install IOS36v1042 wad with WAD Manager without a downgrade.

if ios249 is present, gecko os will use it and so you can run trucha discs

Where do you have that from? If that was true a softmodder could start his backups with Gecko OS.

How do I find out if I have ios249?
