trouble with Mario and Luigi Bowser's Inside Story AR code

Ok, I am an intermediate Acekard 2i user. My only problem is that I'm playing a patched version of the rom, and can't get the AR code to work. I updated my AR code list and it seem that I cannot use the AR code with the patched rom. I tried every possible way but still can't get the cheat to appear when I press Y to bring up the code. Do anybody know how to get it to work? Also I'm using AKAIO version in my Acekard. Any help would be appreciated, Thanks in advance.

You use the AR code on a clean rom.

But I don't think the clean rom works un-patched.

The AR code is meant for a clean rom same as the patch is meant for a clean rom. Patching the rom changes it's details and that's why it doesn't show up in the cheats list. You can always get the info from the patched rom and edit your cheat database to match it, there's details somewhere on the forum that I'm too lazy to hunt down for you.

Using the AR code on a patched rom is kind of pointless tho seeing as the patch and the AR code are pretty much the same thing.
