Okay so I need a little help, I was trying to use HANS to randomize my copy of Y but when I went to go into the Homebrew Menu, I started up my 3ds with L+Power and instead of usually launching the Homebrew Menu, It started up on the regular home menu. Any ideas on what happened?

... try again?

If you didn't make any changed to theme/menuhax then it should work as is. Make sure you hold the 'L' button after you press the power button.

Here's what worked for me - after booting up your 3ds open your camera app (L+R) and then carry out the usual process (power button, home button, L button). Hope it works for you as well :)

If you're using menuhax 2.0 (aka themehax) then you can't boot it from the power menu anymore.
How would one go about entering the homebrew menu once again?

I'm sorry, but it didn't work for me. :(

Well, my little brother got onto my 3ds and changed it to the red theme, I thought since it wasn't a custom theme that I put on there, it wouldn't affect it. That's probably what happened. :(

Just to be clear, you are holding L while powering on your 3DS, yeah? And not from pressing Home from the power off menu?

Edit: Ah well, nevermind then. Problem figured out :p

Yeah, changing the theme from system menu theme chooser uninstalls it because you are replacing the menuhax theme with one of the 3DS's regular themes.

Ah, well thanks for the help. I was afraid of it happening again on my other 3ds that already has HomeMenuHax installed, but I guess all I have to do is not change the theme. :D

Launching the paper and pen, friends, notifications, browser or miiverse and HOME+L should work too.

Why is it not possible anymore?

Prior to v2.0 Home Menu attempted theme-loading when returning from the power-off screen, however since Home Menu state is finally proper now with v2.0 that doesn't happen anymore. Said process boot can be triggered on Old3DS-only by entering a system-applet then leaving it. Hardware-reboot via System Settings for example has a similar affect too.
