I just have to ask about this for a moment
I know Rom Trimming is usually useful for flashcart users...
But is there some chances the rom integrity itself gets messed up?

What I mean is is there ever a chance that the rom itself could not work at any given point during gameplay because of the trim?

if you use a good one(tinytrimmer or tokyotrim) it only cuts out the useless 0 and F's,the worse you can get is wifi get's cut,but unlikely. So the answer is no...

There is a chance but it is highly unlikely.
Use the tokyotrimmer, works like a charm

Little note for tokyotrim though, do watch out for DSi games, because tokyotrim might mess those roms up. Other than that it is a great trimmer and it even tells you if a rom has been improperly trimmed and it can even repair it afterwards.

Dam beat me to it - personally I don't trim ROMS - regardless of whether it's DS or DSi only game.
In the past I had nothing but problems with trimming - regardless of the program I used.
Instead I just buy a bigger MSD

Also beware of patched roms (AP / translation etc.) that can ruin your ROM (I accidentally trimmed Jump Ultimate Stars when its was patched with the TL patch and it got trimmed to ~200 KB).

Heh I'll keep it in mind. I think I only want to trim though games that don't have Wi-Fi or no needs for a Wi-Fi (like how FF-A2 doesn't really use any needs for local wi-fi beyond gifts).

Trimming ROMS is perfectly fine. I've trimmed 4x 8GB cards and all games worked fine (I didn't trim the DSi ROMS). The WiFi issue is a thing of the past, most of the trimmers such as TinyTrimmer and NDSTokyoTrim can handle them. You just need to watch out for the DSi enchanced games.

However make sure you trim them on the memory card, and keep the original untrimmed ROM archive on your HardDisk. Some of the ROM managers such as RToolDS will trim the ROMS as they copy to the MicroSD card.

Yeah I do the same as everyone else. I use NDSTokyoTrim with DS games only. Current trimmers do not know how to handle DSi enhanced games, they will mess it up.

ndstokyotrim messed up tetris DS for me.

but that's just one game. and it's only 16MB

Personally never had any wi-fi or dsi issues using Tokyotrim. Can't think of a single game that has been messed up from trimming.
