Gaming Tree blocking path to Violet City in both HG/SS?

As much as I hate having to flood the board with another of these topics, Im in a bind. On route 30, where Mr.Pokemon's House is, there is a tree blocking my path to move ahead in the game, and I dont have cut yet. And at route 46 (I think) I cant go past the borders! So Ive waster 2 hrs gametime going back and forth, trying to move on, but there doesnt seem to be a path. Ive already beat my Rival and been taught how to catch a pokemon and named rival at elms lab, so I dont know what else I have to do! Thankls in ADvance. Il post screenshots later if needed.

Are you serious?!! There's a path right next to the path leading towards Mr. Pokemons house, maybe that one would lead somewhere.

You need to go north to Violet city, beat the gym leader, go through Sprout Tower, talk to the aide and get the egg (in the pokemart) then pass through violet city and head through the ruins.

Go to the exact place you were standing on the second image and enter the following code:

Press right two times.
Press up one time.

The route will then become clear.
