Translation request

As I was searching for a particular book among my collection, I came across this book:

I have no idea where it comes from (not all that suprising if you consider that I have been collecting my books for the better part of fifteen years and have hundreds of them), or what it is.
I would be grateful if anyone who knows the language can translate it for me (it would be nice to at least know what the hell it is).
