Homebrew Transfering saves between 3DS models

I recently upgraded to a New 3DS XL from my old 3DS model. The only thing I'm having issues is save data. Does anyone know how to get around this because it would be a deal breaker if all the progress games I started on my old 3DS had to be redone, I had 40 hours in SMT4 and I really don't want to start over again.
