Gaming Trading in your DS at Walmart, a heads up

I was at Walmart today and a rep told me that you can trade in your old DS Lite and charger in "good condition" for $100 credit for a 3DS. This is a lot more than you'd get at other places. If you're looking to trade in your DS Lite, check at Walmart.

Oh yeah, I'm in Florida. Central.

I just called walmart and that told me that for a ds lite, you only get $50. I'm guessing the $100 is for something like an XL.

Also they said there can be no damage of any kind, even minor cracks on the housing (mine has a slightly cracked hinge)

Yeah $100 for a used DS lite seems ridiculous, as that's how much you can buy a new one on sale.
Then I guess this is the same as Gamestop's trade-in pricing.

Go to Gamestop and buy them for 60-70 bucks, and take them to Walmart. PROFIT.

I wonder If Walmart sells back some or all of those traded-in ds lites back to Japan and if Nintendo reuses most or some of the components in the newer systems.

Not that it matters, I'd have to cancel my preorder now and go to Walmart. Sooo not happening.
