Hardware Top Screen scratches from bottom screen?

As the scratches seem to be caused by the extruding part of the bottom screen, I wonder if something could be placed there to help.
For instance, maybe a thin rubber layer could be placed around the border of the bottom screen?

Perhaps there is some kind of liquid rubber material that could be applied on there which would harden when it dries. It would probably be able to be peeled off at a later time without damage.
Or maybe someone could make a rubber thing to go around the outside of the TOP screen, which would keep it from closing all the way.

Actually it seems that there are already some pieces placed in the top screen which are designed to keep it from pressing down too far against the bottom screen. But it would seem that that aren't big enough! I think if we could put something on these to make them bigger, it may solve the problem.

well there are two small rubber 'feet' on the top corners of the top screen to prevent this issue but that's just it, they're too small.

My 3DS too have the scraches even tho I've kept the protection thingy it came with... I should have put the upper screen protector too and not only the bottom one. Damn.

The problem is the bottom screen should have been the same size and resolution as the top screen and this would not be an issue at all.

They got cheap on the bottom screen so this is the result.

I think the 3ds having two different sized screens in the first place regardless of If It is causing scratches is a major fail in the design and development phase.

I'll wait for the next revision of 3DS. This plus 3 to 5 hour battery life is enough reason for me to assume that Nintendo might have [knowingly] designed an inferior product just so it's more possible that consumers will also buy the next version. Flawed first models is nothing new to videogame console manufacturing.
^That's just my opinion.

Yes because there are batteries at the same size with better life and they purposely want the possibility for your screen to get scratch.

Doesn't matter if it was the first or second, there can be flaws regardless.
