When I saw pirated copies of Pokemon Let's go Pikachu bricking Switches, I got worried that there may be other games that could do the same.

Is there any tool that can, for example, scan a rom to confirm that it isn't modified?
Has this happened with other games in the past?

Thanks in advance!

Just check the MD5 of the original (if available) and the rom you downloaded. Guess the good uploaders would have to start providing MD5s.

the problem is, when someone "leaks" a game buts is a really a bricker, its kinda hard to know the MD5 of the legit game in question.
