Sry that it was so quiet around the organizer but i am really busy getting all the gui things done. I just want you to know that i am still in it but i will be in paris for the next 7 days so i wont have any time to spend on the organizer than but i will continue working when i am back.
I also consider to make it open source than.

Looking forward to that time! Enjoy Paris.

Edit: Just wanted to encourage you to get back to the organizer when you have the time. Your previous graphical version is the best around in several ways, so it would be nice to see this have all the features we've been discussing, so it can become the best overall!

think i've got to make a list of what features were discussed^^

Ive got a little Demo for you to show you the GUI.

Temporarily just the Renameall function implemented.

WARNING:
Should cause no harm but DON'T USE THE RENAMEALL FUNCTION TWICE!!!.
Otherwise the tool could delete some of your romfiles.
I'am trying to fix this allready

Hmm, I haven't been able to get the demo to start. When I open the tkro_gui.exe, it opens a blank console window for a few seconds, then quickly displays some text before exiting. Do I need to do anything special to get it to work?

I made a quick list of all the features that have been requested in this thread so far. Maybe you'd like to start a section in your original post for this topic that says "Planned features:" and then paste in the ones you want to implement? Here's the list:

1. Options like this: tkro.exe -p D:\roms\ -r all --pattern "%N %T %R" (-p would be path, -r rename and pattern the custom rename pattern where %N would be Number, %T title and %R region)

2. Specify %genre% in renaming pattern.

3. Specify path name options, like so: c:\ds_roms\%genre%\%romname%.

4. The gui of course.

5. shorter commands like ra = rename all, r = rename, c = copy, ca = copyall

6. These rename options:

Title
Publisher
Rom Number (i would like the ones from ds scene, in Offline List they are the ones with %e (comment) and not the %u (Rom Number) i dont know which rom numbers the %u are)
Language
Country of Origin
Source
Rom size
Number of Languages

7. Not really a feature request, but there's an interest in making it open source at some point.

You need to edit the settings file

For example if your Rom folder is
Code:
D:\roms\

you need to change
Code:
E:/dsroms/roms sicher/

to
CODED:/roms/

Yeah, without this updating, there are no good renamers for new releases. I mean, there are no renamers that are current, have a gui, and don't force you to create archives - none that I've found anyway. TKRO is the way to go - when/if it updates.

There is no GUI and the developer (t_kiddie) has disappeared a bit. Hopefully he's okay and just got too busy with regular life.

I ha a lot to do since i started my studies but i think i am at a state of beeing abe to pick up development again now :)

I will again try to port the tool to java, so it will get platform independent and more flexible an of course a lot faster.

Hope to be able to present a new version soon. (Including a GUI ;))

You can try the old version until than. It includes a GUI but is a bit outdated.

Again i would suggest, that you concentrate on the functions in the beginnings (commandline) and then create a Gui for it, this way we could at least use it.

I hope a usable Version will be ready soon (offlinelist annoys every time i use it ^^)

If you just need a runnable cmdlinetool, you can use this one until i get finished with the first alpha/beta version. The new one will have a GUI from the start.

I think the first version of the new Organzer will be ready in a few days. Maybe tomorrow :)
