I started this project a few days ago, due to the fact there's no decent trimmer for Linux
I've got a Windows Port too, so if you don't like the fact the other trimmer doesn't use the Windows Common Controls, you can use mine!

TinyTrimmer

The aim of TinyTrimmer is to be a fast, cross platform trimmer.
It trims as perfectly as possible - including Wi-Fi block detection
Currently Supported: Windows, Linux (GTK2)

This release Trims, and that's it. Sharp-eyed users may notice
the "Scan ZIP" and "Scan RAR" options. They are currently disabled,
but will work in a future release!

Either Drag+Drop ROMs/Folders into the window or Use the Folder
Browse Button. Then hit trim. Done.

For advanced users / scripters, a command line version is included.
Run it without parameters for help.
Try the "turbo" option! In my opinion, this is the most useful

Download: Windows
Download: Linux (GTK2)

The last time I saw a program with a turbo option it was something that deleted NTLDR and was disguised as a windows optimizer :s

looks nice though, I'll try comparing it to NDSTokyoTrim

Just compared it to NDSTokyoTrim.

NDSTT:
7 games - 0.75 seconds to trim

TT:
7 games - felt like 0.5-0.6 seconds

So it's just a little bit faster than NDSTokyoTrim.

Nice, some results from someone other than myself!

The turbo (command line version) option trims all roms in the working directory. Which is great if you put the trimmer in your PATH (C:\WINDOWS\system32 on WinXP) you can just cd into your rom directory, type "tinytrimmercli -t" and all roms are trimmed.

Looking very good, thanks for releasing it

Are you planning on adding any feature? (like a complete trimming log, or creating backup before trimming/trim to another folder)

Is your source open? I'd be interested in porting the utility over to OSX, possibly give it a nice cocoa UI?

It will stay closed for now. I might have a go at an OSX Version if I somehow got a perfectly legal (har har) copy to install on a Mac PC. (har har)

Yes, all of those. If you use the command line version, it gives detailed logs, just need to implement it in the GUI.

This is good. It looks a lot cleaner and more simple than NDSTokyoTrim and it's because of this I like your trimmer better!

Suggestions:

- Choose directory to trim the ROM to (I like it to trim and then put it on my desktop).
- Remove scene numbers (and possibly release group and country if that's possible?)

That's wine's fault in any case heh.

Yes, wine's regressed for a few applications since version 1

It will be worked on!
I'll try and get a release before the 23rd, as I'll be off on holiday then.

Wow thanks! This is a wonderful trimmer. Much smaller than nds tokyo trimmer and faster. I compressed a batch of four games in both trimmers. I got the same size and playability, but this tinytrimmer had no ugly background/icon and patched withing 1.5 seconds. nds tokyo trimmer took well over 9.6 seconds. This is a wonderful piece of software.

So, this trimmer deletes the capability of the game to connect to the wi-fi???

If I want to put the "trimmed" game on the DS will work properly?? With Wi-Fi??

I actually put it in Path and made batchfile for it.
I just put the roms in my Games folder on the sdcard and batchfile goes to the microSD's Games folder and runs TinyTrimmer in turbomode.
Thank you for this wonderful trimmer.
Don't expand it too much, since it is the simplicity and quickness that make this into the great trimmer it is.
