Hardware Thoughts about the Nintendo Switch reveal

Which consoles get the top developers and the highest grossing games. I'll give you a hint it is not Nintendo. How many of the best selling games for consoles are Nintendo. 1 or 2. Handhelds that is a different story. The developers know where the real money is. Everywhere except Nintendo.

Where do you see that it is losing developer??? 80 games in the making and many not announced you just mad that the switch didn't show you what you wanted just wait....ok idc about fifa but that mean there will be more game from ea in the coming and Bethesda is 100% there with Nintendo i don't know why a lot of people are disappointing in something such cool and new ....ps4 and xbox are pretty much the same never saw a complain about it game are overpriced too no complain xbox lag like hell and ps4 struggle no complain ,gta 5 lag as hell too not much complain....i mean what i see here is that you guy wanted a Mother 3 or Metroid announcement maybe it will come sooner than you think...
why it would be rare it is Nintendo main console or maybe rare for 2-4 week but after that it will be everywhere.
Bethesda isnt 100% there as only skyrim is coming (which will be a 6 year old game at release), doom and fallout 4 wernt announced. Its obviously they are using skyrim to test the waters then abandon ship once it sells like shit.
GTAV is pretty well optimized, it doesnt really lag, even the ps3/360 vers ran good, not sure where you are getting this "lag as hell" story from other than framerate bugs which patches have fixed.
It will be rare because nintendo has been creating artifical supply problems for their products to keep demand high. They did it with amiibos and the nes mini they will do it here too.

Only thing that kinda sold it for me was Mario and I'm waiting on LOZ on launch day. Other title reveals were gimmicky and Skyrim is nothing new, so those would be swerved.

Just pre-ordered LOZ and the console from Amazon now @ retail price before the Scaplers get in. However, it is one purchase per customer though but it doesn't stop those mofos.

Are amiibo actually popular still or were they a fad.

As a Wii U owner I feel like they are trying to sell me the same thing twice. Same graphics, same games (literally) and portability, which I don't need.
Splatoon 2? A couple of new weapons and maps is not enough for a sequel. Why not Mario Kart 9 then? And mario in NY is really weird, in my opinion.

Gotta have some Mario Kart to play and a NEW Mario Kart will be at least a year off, so people will buy it even though they probably already own MK8 on Wii U. Most gamers myself included are early adopter suckers. The only advantage to being an early adopter is lower FW = more bugs for hacking.

For me that is the issue at the moment, lack of games and the games im interested in are just re-releases of stuff on the Wii U.

I think its worth waiting anyway, by the end of next year the Switch will have some games worth owning, and probably another revision of the console which will be a nice improvement.

Just remember how much of an improvement the GBA SP, DS Lite and 3DS XL were. Nintendo love to improve their handheld consoles.

If it was any other company I would agree, but I went in with low expectations and it looks like Nintendo did everything they needed to to solve the problems they created with the Wii U. I agree, at face value it was meh, but in terms of gathering a userbase and distancing themselves from their last trainwreck they're doing pretty good
Erm... I honestly can't tell if this is sarcastic or misjudging the wiiu situation. That has the problem of pretty much no 3rd party support (which coincides with low users, but this is somewhat related). And in that regards, things really don't look good. I mean...

Bethesda: "we're really excited to bring you this did year old game! "
Sega: "yeah, we are making something"
Suda51: "here's a picture of Travis Touchdown. Wooooooh!!!!"
EA: "best sport game ever...fifa"
Investors: *run for the fire exits*

I'm glad he brought a picture, because the translator had no idea what was going on while Suda51 was out there.

I think Nintendo touched on everything they needed to in this presentation. People who want Zelda (and don't have WiiU) will buy Switch at launch, and they timed Mario Odyssey so that they can make a second large sales push during the holiday season. By the end of the year the game library should be pretty large, so if they can't come out of 2017 with a positive financial outlook, it may be time to throw in the towel and start developing for other platforms. I don't see Switch "failing" though, certainly not to the same extent that WiiU did.

Switch is Wii U done right, with a proper name, proper network (we expect it so), easy to develop architecture, support for most modern game engines, no region locking and still maintaining nintendo way to be, which is not bad at all considering how horrible is gaming market lately with PS/MS trying to make their consoles a PC with awesome graphics and forgetting where the fun is really at.
Joy cons are the precise and well done fusion between a normal controller and a wiimote.
This is a really promising console that will change the market, not the failure Wii U was.

But i wouldn't be able to buy it anyway since i live is the shittiest country of the world that nintendo doesn't care about at all.

Very weak line up, I was disappointed. At least zelda got voice acting after 20+ years of gibberish. Maybe I'll buy it after the predictable price drop :)

paid online kills it for me i'm not paying to play mk online even if they did finally add a damned bm...
Fuck you nintendo...

After seeing this, I'm out for now.

Although the 300$ bucks pricing might look decent, one of the main reasons I would want to buy a Nintendo home console is for the fun party games (such as Mario Kart, or things like that Arms game for example...).
Problem is, if I want to play local multiplayer with a friend I would have to buy a 2nd controller for that... so 80$ right on top.

Second thing, paid online multiplayer. Am I willing to pay each month to play Mario Kart or Splatoon online ? Maybe you do, but I definitely don't.
(And please don't talk to me about the monthly free game or the special promotions. Considering the relatively low amount of games the Wii U is going to get in the medium/short-term, it's pretty much pointless)

And talking about games and specs, I only see the big third party editors testing out the waters, but nothing more.
-Skyrim ? 6-year old game.
-FIFA ? Where's Mass Effect :glare: ?
(And also notice how we didn't even get a screenshot of FIFA. I'd bet quite a lot that it's going to be a watered version of the standard PS4/XBONE version)

Apart from that, a few nice annoucements with NMH 3 (Probably?), Xenoblade Chronicles 2, SMT... but the thing is, all of those are pretty niche games, not enough to get me sold .
(And the other consoles have good niche titles as well and more, so it doesn't put it ahead of its competitors in my opinion)

So yeah, if you're a Nintendo fanboy and want your dosis of Mario and Zelda go ahead (as usual), but I'm not getting this any time soon, if ever.

Pricing is 2 high ! 299 euro is 2 much. 90 euro for a dock. 70 euro for the pro controller wich is 10 more then a xbox or ps4 controller. Online service. game prices went up. And the rumor stock is limited. My shop told me they're only getting 15 units wich thankfully one of them is mine. Plus they're not releasing specs wich means it ain't pascal architecture and from the trailers the graphics didn't look like an upgrade at all.
