With the year come and gone, and with hundreds of video games being released in it, it's about time to do "This Year in Review", a roundup of all the big titles of 2010.
Wii
Guild's Take: With a big game library on the horizon for the first half and a large list of reveals for the second half, the Wii had an overall strong year, despite encountering a dry spell or two. In my opinion...
Biggest Disappointment: Metroid: Other M, by far.
Biggest Surprise: Goldeneye 007, and that it's actually good.
Game of the Year: Probably have to give it to Kirby's Epic Yarn.
The Scores:
+ No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle (84%)
+ Tatsunoko vs. Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars (85%)
+ Endless Ocean: Blue World (76%)
+ Sonic and Sega All Stars Racing (78%)

DS
Guild's Take: With Nintendo's best-selling hand held walking the green mile, it didn't get a spectacular library for the second half of the year. However, it still had its titles and was able to be put to rest with a good final year.
Biggest Disappointment: Infinite Space, it was just so low quality feeling for what I thought would be a great RPG
Biggest Surprise: All the hate towards the Sonic Classic Collection
Game of the Year: Super Scribblenauts, most likely.
The Scores:
+ Glory of Heracles (69%)
+ Ace Attorney Investigations: Miles Edgeworth (78%)
+ Sonic and Sega All-Stars Racing (78%)

Special: Guild's Game of the Year
Well, there's been a lot of games across a lot of consoles, and it's hard to chose a single game in particular, but if I must...
Mass Effect 2!
Easily the best RPG game I've played, Mass Effect 2 took the original and fixed a lot of the bugs, bettered the combat, and added an equally gripping and epic narrative. While it did (unfortunately) lose some of the more deep RPG aspects of the first game, it felt like a welcome trade off and still produced an award winning game. With Mass Effect 3 set for release later this year, one can only hope it'll be able to stand up to the juggernaut of this game and the first.
For this year, I'd like to thank all the GBAtemp reviewers (staff and not) for keeping the reviews section alive. I'd also like to thank all contributors to these threads and anyone in general whose helped keep GBAtemp up and running.
Have a good 2011!
