but they probably spent more time on the (failure of) piracy protection than in the actual game development.

It's most likely because they have a lack of funding and don't have enough money to get in to retail stores. Black sigil only sold 30k copies so far which is pretty much a bomb.

Its not the devs its the publisher, they're shit. Every games they've released has had a massive delay, and every game turned out average at best.
