thats a crap... I would rather buy the A1 as it stands specially to be used as internal storage, for intense caching and a lot of data reading\writing in them.

I won't ever buy a class 10 non A1 again, I have a lot of dead ones and they can't be used on android as internal storage or it seems that the device performs like a dual core 1.2ghz with 512MB of ram 4 nowadays, it even lags on the android menus lool, A1 works fine on my Nvidia Shield Tablet, while class 10 can only be used as external storage on my tablet or it slows it down 90% making it impossible to use at all (but its also android's fault for encrypting them when using as internal storage).

But on the nintendo it probably will work fine, however if using for emunand, everything reading\writing quite a damn lot and caching data in it all day long, you might kill that M-SD easily...

....it works perfectly on the switch.....but i ll buy an a1 card and put the one from the switch in my mobile phone..(i dont use msd as internal on my android so it is fine) maybe i get an 200gb a1 for switch

So is A1 better than Class 10? Cause I've found class 10 to be way more expensive
Class 10 is different than A1 standard... A1 is the latest newest standard and most manufacturers as you can see don't even have it yet... I only see SanDisk using it...

Class 10 just means min of 10MBps in sequential write, other than that it says nothing at all, its a pretty old known min speed standard...

A1 means specially made to be used as internal storage (like replacing your device storage for the M-SD card that does all the job), its for intensive data caching, moving, writing, reading and much longer lasting...

I dont see the non A1 being more expensive than the A1...

While I can buy 128GB normal class 10 from other brands for like 30€, the sandisk A1 128GB is 39.99€, the 256GB A1 here cost an amazing 130€.

But the A1 now is cheaper than the others at least here because they are in promotion... A few months ago I paid like 30€ for my 32GB Sandisk Ultra A1 and now it says 11.99€ in promotion here and the normal price 18.99€ while a kingston class 10 non A1 32GB is probably around 10€ nowadays but they are crap and die fast.

And the 400GB Sandisk A1 is just 299.99€ here lol, more than I paid for the full switch from the store (250€ in a promotion).

Just bought the 128Gb SanDisk Ultra SDXC1 card today for 45 Euro, where the 200 gigabyte card was 100 Euro.

Here's hoping Savedata and game updates go on the internal storage, leaving the games themselves to be on Sdcard. (Makes it easier to manage that way)

the extreme line of sd cards is fractually quicker than this, but really, it won't make that much of a difference.
also, you might want to aim for the 200 gb one, they're only marginally more expensive per gb but the extra space will probably be very welcome.

Pretty sure it will make zero difference, its already been stated by nintendo the highest transfer speed is 100mbs(which his card has). So anything higher will be obsolete, and as the original sandisk memory cards were the ones the switch was designed to use, I don't see him getting any more optimal performance speed wise.
