HD 5970 is a dual-GPU graphics card, whilst GTX 580 is a single GPU graphics card. See this thread about the problems with multi-GPU setups.

Also, Orc mentality: "it's faster coz it's red". Painting their vehicles red makes them automatically go faster. The same principle applies to making graphics cards look like batmobiles.

EDIT: Flames + graphics cards... not a good mix ;p

I knew it was a dual-gpu card. I saw that thread after posting. Off topic but, I have the same problem with my EVGA 9800 GTX+ in SLI, I don't game on PC much as my friends don't so I ignored it. Those card (9800) are quite loud when they are on load. [Edit: After a year of using these I have found out it was a bios issue of the card, update fixed it.]

Does the warranty run out for the second guy?

More importantly, what if I go through two incarnations with it?
