So, I just got my hands on a third-party classic controller pro and it works fine with WiiWare games and Wii games but there's one problem with every homebrew emulator - when I press and hold right on the d-pad the character in the game runs/walks funny, skipping steps, jerking as if I am pressing then releasing the button. The same in emulators menu, when I hold right to scroll through my games - it doesnt scroll smoothly, it stops for a second then goes on again. Left works fine both in games and menus. Wtf?

They are mostly rubbish. How much did you pay for it? I already had three of those third-party controller. Only one of them worked ok.... but just for 6 months.

dude, it was like $4 and I already got a full refund and they said I could keep the controller, so its all good :D Ordered another one, hoping that this one was just damaged and that other one (that I recently ordered) will work fine with emulators.
But anyway, did yours work ok with homebrew emulators? I mean did it have the issues that I described or something similar?

Im having the one from OSTENT, seems to work very good with homebrew. I can verify if you name what game you tested on which emulator :) Whatever i tested so far did work, emulators and other homebrew.

i paid 14 bucks (in american pesos) for one of these to play gamecube games on my wii since i couldn't find anything original, its terrible, the analog is fake, so forget anything that requires precision, literally aiming in a first person game is impossible because it skips to the corners of the screen like a dpad, then after a few days using it with other games, it simply died, and i never played GC again lol

I have an original Nintendo Classic controller, but I noticed that the original conductive rubber latex pads were extremely soft and weak, and sometimes even got stuck. So I did an experiment: I replaced the old rubber pads with the ones that come with one of those pirated controllers, made of silicone. The controller became original, and it got even better.

I'm still using my OEM Nintendo controller that I bought new in 2014. I'd never try to save money on a controller for a Nintendo console as the unofficial ones have a long history of being trash and not worth the time/frustration when they do weird things/fail.

I have mayflash adapters myself and use classic controllers such as snes and psx. The classic controllers from Wii are pretty crap tbh

The vast majority of these aftermarket controllers are just poorly made junk that will break down after a few months of use (if they even function properly to begin with). Your best bet (if you can't find an OEM one in good condition) is to go with a well-known third party brand. Something like Hyperkin/Tomee, OldSkool, RetroBit, etc. This doesn't guarantee a quality product, as they make some junk as well, but it's your best shot at getting something slightly higher in quality.

I'm not sure if XYAB makes these controllers, but I've found their GameCube and N64 controllers to be of surprisingly good quality.
