He already told that he wants a PS1. Not a PS2 or PS3, a PS1.

Some gamers use the systems to play games that the system was made for.
I has a PS1, PS2 and PS3 hardware backward compatible (BC)
I use my PS1 for PS1 games
My PS2 for PS2 games
My PS3 for PS3 games
I don't use them to play Audio CDs, DVD movies or Blu-ray movies.
This will prolong the life of the system, plus the BC is not perfect and some games will not work.

WOW.

But when you say 'prolong the life' that must be by what? Less than a year?

My Sega Saturn, Sega Dreamcast, SONY PSX 1001, 7501, 9001 and 101 (which has a screen and get the most use), PS2 Phat, PS2 Slim, Xbox, Xbox 360 and PS3 are first day launch system or older then 10 years. Not once have I had a disc error, audio or video skipping, not loading, freezing, RRoD, YLoD, resets.
I know the Xbox, XBox 360, PS2 and PS3 play DVD movies but I never used them for that. I have a $40 HDMI 1080 Upscale with DIVX DVD players for all my video needs.

even then there is a workaround, just need to set the thing to debug mode every time, then they read

Well I'll be damned, thank you good sir.

I've never experienced any issues with things of this nature, thank you for the insight.
