Quark! Very interesting, does that means there might be a temp sensor on the apu?

pure speculation, but it seems likely - consoles are already known to thermally shutdown when overheating, so there's *some* awareness there. I don't know if it's handled in the IOSU though or in the SMC (which we have zero visibility into); which would also affect the type and location of the temp sensor.
if you go back to the old Iwata Asks and that kind of thing from the Wii U's development they talk about the constant thermal issues they had, so one would expect they added something.
