I built and tested the OpenPuck today, very easy to buy the (1) parts, very easy to flash and use, very useful device.

I am to last to write an article about it, but maybe someone in the staff might be interested in doing that? I think it is something very interesting that will be great to show as a new article or something, some kind of explanation of what is does, what to buy, how to flash it, a review of how it works on PC, Android, iOS, Switch, PS4/5 (explaining when you need additional hardware to make it work there) etc, etc.

Not sure who to mention here, @shaunj66 , @Costello , @Chary , somebody else?

Recently bought Retro-Bit's Tribute 64 controller.

I doubt I'll use it much, but looks pretty comfortable and very stylish.

This is the design the N64 controller should have had because the "/|\" design always confused me how was I supposed to hold it. Now I know as an adult I know.

Go for it, it can probably be featured on the front page as long as its formatted correctly

I only tested the PS3 controller emulation on a PS3, it did have a few hipcups getting it to recognize the first time, mainly settings issue on the chip itself, even if I did the command to swap to ps3 mode, wouldnt work. Had to put the chip in permanent ps3 mode rather than resetting back to steam puck mode after plugging the chip in.
The only thing that doesnt work was turning the system on with the controller, just turns the controller on and does nothing.

Decided to buy the official N64 Rumble Pak and then read the third party Gamester N64 Rumble Pak works without batteries so purchased it. I'll just resell the official on a N64 bundle and keep the Gamester for the Tribute 64 controller.

I ordered a wireless XLR transmitter and receiver, C245 939 and SK soldering iron tips, a CreationSpace CS0802A electric screwdriver, 5 0.4mm mist sprayer nozzles for my two gecko enclosures, and an FNIRSI HS-02A with 6 tips and the storage box.

I ordered the wireless XLR transmitter and receiver because I'm always moving my microphone around to different spots on my desk, and rerouting the XLR cable is getting annoying. I got the electric screwdriver because I burned out the motor on my cheap N20 screwdriver. Even though I'm happy with my FNIRSI DWS-200 soldering station, I got the HS-02A because I needed something more portable for when I just need to solder something quickly. I also got the A variant because I have a bunch of C245 tips, and because they are pretty easy for me to find.

Decided to buy the official N64 Rumble Pak and then read the third party Gamester N64 Rumble Pak works without batteries so purchased it. I'll just resell the official on a N64 bundle and keep the Gamester for the Tribute 64 controller.

It's pretty easy to make the official rumble pak work with out a batteries. You literally only have to desolder and resolder a resistor

This weekend blew my mind, it's nice when you start being seen regularly by flea market people as they'll show you stuff that's not always in plain view. The image below is a mixture of a vr32(uk) shipment of the lost 1996 Virtual Boy games I now have (yay) with Bound HIgh rounding out all 4 unreleased finished titles, and that FC game in the case was mail too.

During the week I stumbled upon the El-Hazard set with spotless DVDs and was surprised to find it, paid up, didn't care. All the toys were flea market #1 that again sucked, but that was all $10 so whatever. The NES manual I had, game I found for $5 in the week locally so it's a win.

Flea #2 was the winner though, that Power Glove was nasty as hell and took a couple hours of my bag of tricks cleaning and repair(light stitching) to make excellent again (and it does work) and all for $75, a booth near by had the lame speedboard for $5 so I can't complain.

Always wanted but never could get a complete working non trashed power glove so that's a win, and to think earlier this year I got of the same guy the 1handed handicapped player N64 glove too (and a snes xband modem.)

I'm not sure, do we have a clean up/restore section? That glove was rank. Here's one of the inside board, 2 of before, 2 of after.

This was a mix of using clorox bathroom foaming bleach/tile cleaner, 91% alcohol, a full magic eraser and paper towel bits to get it down. The foam blocks got jelly-sticky-gross and flaking off so I removed them which took forever getting black tar off the plastic (I saved the pads not sure why.) The bleach spray was to disinfect the interior/all mesh for the glove and to remove those disgusting mystery stains using a strong bristle brush to get it into everything it foamed up. The stitch near the thumb there had 2 popped seams and a small tear starting, used a fine needle and black matching thread to close the pops and then seal the starting tear and it's not noticeable now at all. It was a better part of 2hours cleaning everything I believe maybe a bit less. I had that full thing apart cleaning all the contacts and everything else and given its age of design choices I'm surprised it does as well as it can.

The only damage is a slight plastic rack near that wrist cable entering near the d-pad. Right now it's clean, smells fresh, works seemingly fine, but I need to reference the setup or it acts weird on its own looking for a program to use proper to various games.

That to me feels like the true movie of Dukes of Hazzard.

I wish we had flea markets where i live :'( We only have the fleas :^p
