The Zune is officially dead

Its sad to see how many people just go to apple cuz... its apple.... I had a Black 30GB first gen Zune, gorgeous media player, excellent design and at the time, it was WAY better than any Ipod. I ended up selling my zune after 4 years using it with 0 problems cuz I found a sansa clip+ (also WAY better than any ipod of the same class).

Maybe if I get more money ill buy that 30 gb zune again or maybe a zune HD. To the guy that his zune headphones broke, get skull candy, I have ones that music is wonderful on them.

No. Do not get skullcandy. I don't mean to postcrap, but you can get far better headphones for a similar price. Look into the Meelectronics M9, those are great for the price.

And I was thinking of getting a Zune too... hm. I have a knack for buying end-of-life devices anyway. But this one reached the end before I could buy one.

But you buy iPods anyway because they have a half eaten apple on the back of them.

It's a shame, my friend has a Zune and it seems really good. Maybe it's not full of apps but it plays music and videos and that's what I kinda expect from today's devices.

The only iPods I ever owned were iPod touches.

And I don't even use them as media players. I use them for Twitter and apps and such on the go. I mean, I have music on it, but only like 1GB of music...

Indeed. One reason why I just ended up buying a phone with enough good points. Using Spotify Premium > adding and deleting your tracks on a portable mp3-player/phone/whatever. Looking at things now, most phones actually have more properties than an iPod and still cost less. Also regarding the iPods: 16 Gb iPhone ~600$ = iPod Touch 32 Gb ~300 $ + another phone? Not saying that the iPhone is the only alternative, but putting things into perspective here

Heh, I used to have the Limited Editon Halo 3 one many years ago. It came preloaded with a bunch of Red vs. Blue episodes and had a Full Halo Sound track. It was awesome.

Well, that sucks. I liked the Zune devices. Too bad they never succeeded sales-wise.

I shall be cherishing my now-discontinued Zune 8GB.
