I've been thinking about getting the MigSwitch and don't care if I get banned since I never go online. My only concern is game updates. From my understanding, I won't be able to update any games if I'm console banned?

I understand you can still update games locally with another Switch via bluetooth. I don't have anothe Switch but since this is peer-to-peer, has anyone reversed the protocol so we can send updates to ourselves via a Laptop for example? It would theoretically be possible unless they are using some TrustZone keys or something (which I doubt since the updates are signed themselves). I would try to solve this but I don't have a second modded switch to debug the protocol.
I haven't seen it done. Someone should be able to tell you if it's technically possible, if not here then someone on ReSwitched discord

E: if you do go ask on that discord, then just ask directly about local updates, don't mention bans or flashcarts or anything that could be construed as related to piracy.

Anybody know the specific screw used for the MIG Switch? I was using it today and it fell out randomly.

Respectfully i don’t believe you. Share pictures of what’s on your mig sd card

I’ve been using mine since release with my own dumps and another private (but technically public ) dump and I’m not banned at all

So there’s no way the MIG banned you
Hi everyone, first post here, just got my mig today from aliexpress (8 day delivery to portugal which is quite good i'd say) i own 2 consoles, 1 with homebrew and 1 without, i was planning to use just one memory card on the mig in both, but use internet downloaded games on the homebrew and my own dumps on the other, is that possible? can the "normal" one be banned just by having the internet game "inserted" (cycled trough on the mig) also i am thinking of asking a friend to lend me a couple games for me to dump and play on the "normal" switch, can that also be a problem? sorry if these questions have been asked before, but I did not find anything on it.

Kind Regards.

I wouldn’t try and mix SD cards like that

That’s asking for confusion and weird errors.

It might work but I can’t gurentee how well

So having 1 card for each console is better, got it, what about the dumps from someone else? (knowing it will only be used in 1 other console?)

I asked because of this part of your previous comment. "I’ve been using mine since release with my own dumps and another private (but technically public )"
1 card per device is good practice. Causes less issues and weird issues

I can’t say anything about dumps. Do that at your own risk

Oh I thought you meant sharing a console sd with your MiG

Sharing MIG cards should be fine.
xD I must have written it in a not so easy way to read,

1 MIG - 1SD card
My games + Internet Games

My games - "normal" switch
Internet Games - homebrew switch (use as extra storage)

my question would also be if not loading the internet games on the normal switch could cause any problem

If I measured it correctly m3x3

I can’t source it anywhere tho so good luck. If you do pls share ❤️

Mine is also long gone now so I can’t remeasure it
3 as in 3mm length? because m3x3 isnt a screw size, you're looking at m3x0.5 or m3x0.35 perhaps

anyway you probably cant go wrong with something like this

https://www.mcmaster.com/products/screws/thread-size~m3/

of course though, if they used nonstandard screws... you're on your own

When you give a screw dimensions you should give:

-The diameter of the shaft outside of the thread, if you put a m before you are indicating is a milimetric thread)
-Length of the full fastener.

By Example M3X6 is a screw diameter 3 millimeters and length (from the bottom of the head to the bottom of screw) of 6 mm

M3X3 is a screw of diameter 3 millimeters and 3 millimeters long. and yes, that screw do exists.

By example this two Screw brothers are M2X10 (top) and M2X8 (middle) and diameter is on the bottom image.

I believe this is how I did it: but I honestly only googled for like 30 seconds since I’ve never measured screws before so I could have easily fucked up the measurement

Or well now that I think of it..I may have not measured the head of the screw as well it’s been a minute and my screw is long gone now so I can’t redo it if I wanted too

This is helpful information tho nonetheless thank you for sharing and clarifying !

Has anyone experienced issues with the Dumper not reading a game?

I have a US Hogwarts Legacy game, and it's been the only game that my dumper won't read. I've read elsewhere someone had the issue with their dumper, but happened to have a second that it worked find on. The game works fine directly plugged into my Nintendo Switch. I was thinking cleaning it with rubbing alcohol (the game cart) and tried to see if I could somehow reset the dumper (already updated to the latest soft).

I haven’t had an issue with it reading any games so far, and I have the US Hogwarts Legacy game. I’ve had a few games I’ve dumped not work on my Switch once copied to the MIG cart. I’ve had issues with The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle. I’ve had issues with a few others, but recopying them seems to fix it so far.
